What scares Japanese firms about the economy in 2007?

The Japan Times and Kyodo News have provided us with a good look at a survey of major Japanese firms on their economic outlook for 2007. In a poll of 100 firms, 60 responded that they expect the economy to continue growing at some pace in 2007. 10 firms said that the economy would flatten out, and 30 felt that the expansion will slow down.
68 of the companies did predict that consumer spending would pick up in 2007. Perhaps that know something about future wage increases that they’re not saying…
Oh - and what scares those firms the most? A potential slowdown in the US economy.
