Forbes: Japan no longer Asia’s top spot for billionaires
March 10, 2007
By Ken Worsley
Forbes has once again published their annual list of billionaires, and the Indian media has been making a big deal that India has surpassed Japan in its number of billionaires, and now leads Asia in that statistic. Last year, Japan led Asia with 27 names on the list, while India boasted a more modest 23. This year, however, India shot up to 36 billionaires, while Japan shed 3 to land at 24.
In total, India’s 36 billionaires are worth $191 billion, while Japan’s 24 billionaires are reportedly worth $64 billion.
Forbes also offers some key tips on their website, such as: How to live like a billionaire (in case you were having a hard time with that), Priciest private jets, Homes of the billionaires, Best billionaire cars (With video! Can you believe Warren Buffet drives a $42,000 Cadillac? I mean, my house cost more than that!), and of course: How to avoid a heart attack.

Got something to say?

Yeah, about that list. What’s with “Akira Mori and family?” By “and family,” are they including Minoru? Sure, he’s family and all, but he’s rich from a separate company and should probably have his own spot on the list, especially since each of the Walton children is on there and all they do is consume our oxygen.
I’m sure there are other screwups on the list but I’m not enough of a rich-bastard watcher to notice them all.
