You might remember that our most recent venture into the blogosphere surrounding Japan and it’s economy featured Marxy’s analysis of trends in the Japanese magazine industry.

Staying with the entertainment theme, this time we’ll look at the always well-written Japan Marketing News, which has published a recent post on changes in the behavior of Japanese moviegoers. Declines in box office receipts are nothing new, right? And declines in Hollywood movies only seem to make sense. I think this was behind the recent push to release Spiderman 3 in Japan first…try to regain some trust in a market that feels like they could watch the film on an airplane before they can see it in a cinema at home.

Got something to say?
