Japan’s Upcoming Economic Reports
March 25, 2007

The early part of the week may not seem so exciting, but there are some key economic reports due to be released later next week, highlighted by the February nationwide Consumer Price Index on Friday the 30th, which will be accompanied by the Labor Force Survey and February household spending data. Later the same day, we will hear the February auto production and exports numbers.
Some quick projections:
February nationwide consumer price index: -0.4% year-on-year
February household spending: +0.2% year-on-year
Those are the only ones I’ll put numbers on. As far as auto production and exports go, I’d bet on both being up, with exports most likely around the 10% range.
Since there isn’t exactly a Vegas line on these, it’s hard to guess what others are thinking, though I’ll be waiting to hear from them…
