Description: This monthly report shows nationwide data for industrial production, shipments and inventory. It also makes a forecast for the upcoming two months.
Most recent results: Published June 28, 2007. Industrial Production in May decreased 0.4% from the previous month, showing a decrease for the third consecutive month. It showed an increase of 3.7% from the previous year. The index in May was 107.0, seasonally adjusted (2000=100).
Industries that mainly contributed to the decrease are as follows: 1. Electronic parts and devices, 2. Information and communication electronics equipment, 3. Others
According to the Survey of Production Forecast in Manufacturing, Production is expected to increase 1.9% in June and increase 1.7% in July.
Shipments in May increased 0.1% from the previous month, showing a increase for the second consecutive month. It showed an increase of 4.4% from the previous year. The index in May was 111.4 (seasonally adjusted).
Inventory in May decreased 0.3% from the previous month, showing a decrease for the first time in two months. It showed an increase of 2.7% from the previous year. The index in May was 96.3 (seasonally adjusted).
